Welcome to our custom-built hostel in the small hamlet of Inverneil, on the shores of Loch Fyne, Argyll. We are just 2 miles from Ardrishaig, which marks the start and finish of the world famous Crinan Canal.
You will be guaranteed a warm welcome and a comfortable stay. There’s lots to see and do and the spectacular scenery will ensure you enjoy every minute!
Our Hostel
We have two open plan ‘common-rooms’ with a lounge and dining areas for 24 guests. A spacious self-catering kitchen which has 3 separate cooking areas, including one which is wheelchair accessible. Please note we do not provide meals, although we can arrange ‘takeaway’ pick-ups or private hire to local cafes, hotels and restaurants.
Our Rooms

Singles, couples, families and groups are all welcome (although we regret, no hen or stag parties). As dog owners ourselves, we’re delighted to allow well-behaved dogs too, as long as they sleep in your private room with their own bedding etc. as they will not be permitted on beds or furniture.
Our Staff
Argyll Backpackers Hostel is a small business and Pam the owner / warden will usually be on site to help ensure that you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We enjoy sharing our love of Argyll with guests from near and far. This is our home, and it’s our mission to help you feel at home too!
The local area
We will help you make the best of your time in this beautiful part of the country. There are easy transport links for cyclists, public bus, motorists and even kayakers / canoeists or other boaties via Loch Fyne itself! The hostel also has an 8 seater minibus, which can carry up to 6 bikes.
